Maine Equal Justice
Civil legal aid and policy advocacy organization focused on access to public benefits and economic justice. MEJ can assist immigrants, especially asylum seekers, with issues with public benefits including: MaineCare, SNAP, Unemployment insurance, TANF, ASPIRE, CSSP and more. MEJ also provides additional support for immigrants facing eviction.
Maine Immigrants’ Rights Coalition (MIRC)
Supports legal advocacy and immigrant rights initiatives, collaborating with attorneys and community organizations.
Maine Volunteer Lawyers Project
Legal aid organization that recruits volunteer lawyers to provide free legal information, advice, and representation to Mainers with low incomes who have civil legal problems.

Provides free civil legal services for non-citizens in cases involving housing, food, income, safety, education, and healthcare
Southern Maine Workers’ Center (SMWC)
Every Thursday, between 5pm and 7pm, SMWC and the Volunteer Lawyers Project (VLP) provide free one-on-one consultations between workers and volunteer lawyers.
